But wow, that was a disappointing turn out. I somewhat disagree with your comments about Facebook's utility in organising events - there were only 6 confirmed attending, which turned out to be basically accurate. I interpret "Maybe" as a nothing response, which really generally translates to a polite "No thanks" (ironically, less polite than simply declining)...Facebookers, if you say must say "Maybe" then be sure to check back later to either accept or decline once you have confirmed your plans!! I think the problem with this particular Flash Mob event was perhaps the embarrassment factor - personally, I knew I didn't have the guts to participate. I also know a lot of fairly confident people, musical performer and comedian types even, and none of them had the guts to do it either!! I wonder how they got so many participants in New York??
