If You Can Read This My Cape Fell Off
At the beginning of the raid, before we left Hindmarsh square, we did a small amount of filming some of which involved chasing a girl in a red t-shirt that said “if you can read this my cape fell off” on the back.
That was Bec Hill and the filming we did was for her show at this years fringe, ‘If you can read this my cape fell off.’
From the fringe guide holy man download :
Join Bec as she searches for a loophole which may classify her as a superhero. However, when your only superpower is making awesome cheese-on-toast, do you stand much of a chance? THE show for anyone who has ever fancied themselves as a superhero… …Without the heroic or super part.

Once again, another great Flashmob event. It was well organised, the reactions were awesome. My legs are sore.

I don’t think there could be a better introduction to Flashmobbing. For my first ever event, it was fantastic. Had an absolute blast, and I think everything went really well. Except next time I’ll wear more comfortable shoes. Ouch.
I was comparing the video from last year, and (while I didn’t attend, I feel that) things certainly seemed much better organised this year. Having everybody in groups gave a great sense of team spirit (except when 2 members of the team disappear before we even get onto Pulteney St…) and helped keep things running smoothly. On that, the flag worked great for us in the red team, would be great to see flags for all the teams.
Thanks for having me along, and I look forward to the next event.

I had an absolute blast, I am trying to decide which was better, the Zombie Walk or the Ninja Raid, and I cant decide. My favourite memory was the performer who said “If you don’t give me 20 bucks the Ninjas will kill you”

Aye – upstaging the busker was the best part. He was flustered at first, but then he started playing off us, and in the end I think we helped him more than we hindered.

This ninja raid was freaking awesome. I had a great time, but it would have been a little better if we had organised the switches between legion and single line. And I don’t know what happened when we turned off Gawler Place but that I think took a little longer than it should have.
I totally agree with Rashell about my favourite moment being when we surrounded the Circus guy.
I also liked the shouting after we lined up behind the malls balls. Three of the girls in my yellow legion could have followed the No Talking rule a little better though… xD But oh well. Us yellow ninjas were the bomb.
Would have helped if I paid more attention in the walk through probably.
Oh and I got told afterwards that the legion training that we did sort of didn’t resemble the legion stuff that we did during the actual walk…And there probably could have been more efficiency with crouching and stuff.
Big props to Ben for organising his own team.
I think his name was Ben anyways…
But yeah, totally loved it.
Look forward to the next flash mob.

Thanks flashmob for a very entertaining weekend. I loved the expressions on the peoples faces as they saw this huge group of ninjas walking past. And thanks to nick for being white team general or commander

Yeah it was awesum. Very well organised.
The only thing I missed was running trough a shopping center or something.
But all in all I really loved it.

I had so much fun!! It was my first time with the mob and what a way to start. Everyone was so friendly and it had a great team spirit. My favourite ( well one of many) was when we all hid for the second time, I crouched down by a rack of clothes, the shop assistants stood right next to me and were talking in amazement about by my fellow ninjas and when we were told to move I jumped out and scared the bejeezes out of them..hmm maybe I am a good ninja, they had no idea I was there.
What did amaze me was the lack of reaction of many of the people, they refused to notice us…no sense of fun.
The guy that stalked the pedestrians before we even started was a hoot, well done to the nameless man in black.
Thanks all to who organised it and to all who took part, can’t wait for the next one.
P.S. The conga line was so funny to see and do, though I was sooo hot, those masks are very stuffy!

That, was awesome.
Best parts include pissing off the street performer (who took it like a champ) and the general response from amused and bewildered passers-by.
Although now my legs hurt from so much ninja-movement! Worth it, though.

at first i was very hesitant to join because i just receive information about the raid on friday night and it was happening on sunday.

it was around 2 15 and i was changin in the toliet still thinking if i should go or not haha because i didn’t know anyone esle:( and also for thevery fact that i’m going to look like a little midget wierdo in black haha
but anyhow.. a few of my fds came for support and some were embarrassed to see me there hahahaha.. loved them tho!
a few funny moments and highlights for moi.. were when i rocked up everyone had already being put in there groups .. my pros already had red on it so.. i just jumped into the red team. heehee
i was actually nervous and feeling abit out of place but lucky i had covering over my face .. no one knew me hohoho!
i saw a girl who looked familiar.. she also had her face covered and i called out her name.. and shes like yeah! and we were blah blahing away .. then we took our covers off.. and i had no idea who she was HAHAHAHA!! that was the funniest thing ever haaa.. for me that is lol

i personally got a kick out of the japanese store clerks that came out of their shop after a long line of us “sneaking” by their door.

Hello fellow ninjas!
i found the event the most super thing yet, this year! i had a friggin hoot!
my mum got into it and i dragged my unsuspecting cousins to the ninja raid… i have to say they loved it too!
i think the best part of the whole thing would have to be staring at people through the windows of busineses and seeing the humour, the horror and the utter bewilderment painted on their gobs.
the people envolved i found, on the whole, were very friendly and had a good sence of humour!
i must also add, the person who came up ith the head dress idea is a genius!
that busker guy stole our gig! lol ahahaha he like used us! lol i loved it tho, when he said that the pirate should find his own group! lol too tru! ah well the pirate worked in with the whole DEATH TO PIRATES thing!
to all fellow ninjas, i wish you well in ur ongoing ninja-ing and i hope to see them there again in another ninja raid on adelaide!
and i say THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE AFM FOR ORGANISING IT! THANK YOU THANK YOU THAAAANNNKKKKYOU!
lol
thankyou again, Kate, the female green general that didnt do any generaling lol!

I agree with everyone so far; the event was great fun. Two moments stand out to me the most. The first was when some woman asked “Are you a ninja?” I then stared at her and waved my sword around a little and she screamed, that was great.
I also liked the part where the street entertainer says: “Don’t look now audience, but a group of ninjas have surrounded you.” Then he starts talking about the audience giving him money and the ninjas would let them live, at which point Alex yells out “Death to Pirates!” and the rest of us repeat after him. That part was great.
Thanks to everyone who came!

I like the pirate
YARRR!!
May 17th, 2009 at 12:53 pm
Hey I really wanna get a ninja costume! Where could I find a place that would sell one? It shouldn’t have a full face mask, so People can still see my ginger-ninja awesomeness.
May 22nd, 2009 at 10:28 pm
Hehe I know that pirate >.<
